What is it?
Slitting is the process of cutting large coils of steel into smaller and coils. This is usually done on a coil with a wide width, to reduce it to narrower width coils. During this process, the wide coil is passed lengthwise through the slitter and cut by sharp rotary blades.
Slitted coils can have many uses. By having the steel cut into thinner slitted coils, the customer is able to utilize the material more efficiently and reduce the waste associated with the manufacturing process.
