What is it?
Hot rolled pickled and oiled steel coils is steel that goes through the hot rolled process, and is then further treated. The steel is treated in an acid bath to remove the scale that is left behind from the hot rolling process when the steel is cooling. This is the pickling process. Once this process is done, dried oil is applied to the steel in order to prevent rusting.
Hot rolled pickled and oiled steel coils are used in applications where a good deal of strength and impact resistance is required. This type of steel coil is also better suited for painted applications. Hot rolled pickled and oiled steel coils are most commonly used in brackets, mounts, automotive frames, agricultural products, and exercise equipment.
